Get everything you need to succeed in tech

Hi, I'm Rashad Russell, founder of CreatorBuilders and the instructor for this community. I've been in the tech industry for over 8 years, having worked as a software engineer for several tech companies including Yahoo Inc. in Silicon Valley and Eventbrite here in Nashville, Tennessee.
Being in tech has been an amazing journey, and the industry has afforded me a lot of opportunities, and now I want to pass along the skills I've gained over the years to others.
I got my start in tech back in high school when I taught myself how to code and build websites. This later introduced me to entrepreneurship via working as a freelance web designer.
I later attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on a scholarship worth over $160,000 to pursue a degree in Computer Science.
At 19 years-old, I landed my first internship as a software engineer at Yahoo Inc. in Silicon Valley where I earned enough money to cover my remaining tuition costs for the following year of college.
I graduated as a Computer Science major in 2016, and moved back to Nashville to work for Eventbrite as a software engineer. Because of this nearly 6-figure job, I was able to pay off my remaining $54,000 in student loan debt becoming debt-free.
It has always been my goal to start my own tech startup, so I quit my corporate job in 2019 to become a full-time entrepreneur. Now here I am today, the founder of my own consulting agency, Beyond Light Creations and founder of my new tech startup called AcmeBuilder.
I have a lot of experiences to share, stories to tell, and people to help, which is why I wanted to create the CreatorBuilders community.
I hope to not only teach learners how to code and build technology, but also advise on how to succeed in tech either as a career-path, business venture, or hobby.
This will be a great community to be apart of if you are a tech enthusiast, aspiring software engineer, or tech entrepreneur.
